Surfing at LynmouthWhen the swell is right, the surfing off Lynmouth is world class (pictured).  At other times, the renowned surfing beaches of CCanoeing past the houseroyde and Woolacombe are only about 40 minutes away.

When the river is in spate, whitewater canoeing for the experi
enced is possible  on the East Lyn past the Lodge (pictured).  Other watersports are available on Exmoor's Wimbleball Lake.

6 1/2 lb sea troutThe East Lyn is paradise for game fishing and salmon anCrook Pool on the East Lynd trout migrate to their spawning grounds past the Lodge (the pictured 6 1/2 lb sea trout was caught literally on the doorsteps of Myrtleberry).  Note - the fishing season for Salmon is from March 1st - September 30th & for Trout is from March 15th - September 30th and an Environment Agency Rod license is needed for any fishing on UK rivers.  Fishing is available from the garden (see Booking page) or day/week tickets for the rest of the East Lyn are available from many places including the Lynton Tourist Information Centre.

of that, just make the most of being in the unofficial walking capital of the UK with easy circular walks via the Blue Ball Inn at Countisbury, the Rockford Inn at Rockford, the Rising Sun at Lynmouth or the Crown at Lynton all from your doorstep.
