Easter 2008
Had a wonderful
stay at the Lodge. Amazing views
and truly outstanding countryside.
The Lodge
itself was clean, light and modern and
certainly large enough to comfortably sleep six. I cannot think of any
negative
points – even the access [drive] was fun to navigate! …

A beautiful,
restful place to stay for a holiday.
The Lodge is very well thought out and comfortable and of course the
surrounding area is stunning. We shall certainly recommend this place
to our
friends and family.

What a lovely
holiday. All of us enjoyed ourselves
so much. The Lodge is homely and comfortable and set in the perfect
location.
If you need to rest, relax and get away from your busy life then this
is the
place!

Lovely to wake
up in the morning and realise the
sound of rain is really the river and the sun is out! Algy thinks it’s
a dog’s
haven – female company as well! Finally no mobile coverage – an
absolute boon!!

Easter 2009
These wonderful
few days brought back fabulous
memories of childhood (25 years ago!) when we came every year, and I’ve
enjoyed
it just as much and even more this time. A wonderful restful tranquil
place for
a week of ‘recharge’!
Spotted the
heron in the river early every morning
and squirrels playing on the bridge and a group of 6 deer just up over
the
hill!
Can’t wait to
come back to one of my favourite
places ever – thank you for not changing it! “It just can’t get better
than
time at the Lodge!” :-)

Echoing other
comments made – ‘it’s great to be
back!’ We began to have holidays at Myrtleberry when I was 12, and I
was 50
last week! We have had a lovely week, have spotted the heron a few
times and
then drying and resting in the trees! Plenty of dippers and wagtails.
Came
across deer whilst walking from Countsibury. Thanks Danny and Vendela,
for your
hospitality and help with the ticks!

Thank you for
letting us stay at this cosey house!
I love the big garden! I love the big garden and the river. Me and my
sister
kept walking up and down the river – it was very cold! I like the room
I got to
stay in; the bed was very comfy! On the Tuesday our grandpa caught a
huge
salmon! Thank you and we’ll probably be back!

A pleasure to
use ‘The Lodge’ as our base for
exploring Devon. Reminds us so much of a place we holiday in ‘The
Sounds’ in
New Zealand. It was great to return to each night. Relaxing listening
to the
river.

Dear Danny,
Vendela & Mosie – the sweetest
dog! Thank you for another wonderful stay and everything you both do to
make it
so perfect. This is “As good as it gets”. Thank you for the
magic!

Great to be
back! Good fishing – several salmon
and one sea trout. The dogs loved it and enjoyed the company of Mosie.
Nice to
see the improvements and love it as much as ever. We will be back!

Thank you for a
lovely stay – it was truly
magical! We had heard so much about it from our parents for so many
years we
thought we’d come take a look, and we were not disappointed!!
The walks are
great, especially for walking off
all the great food we found in many of the local pubs (Rockford Inn and
Blue
Ball Inn). Will definitely be back soon – hopefully with the dogs!
Thanks for
your great hospitality and very warm welcome.
