Description of the accommodation
'The Front' at Myrtleberry is the orginal 2-storey part of the main house built in approximately 1840 as the river bailiff's house. It is self contained with its own entrance although shares [locked] internal doors with the rear of the property where the owners live.
Downstairs there is a comfortable living room with an open fire, TV with FreeSat connection and a variety of books, DVDs and games for your entertainment. Across the hallway there is a quirky kitchen-diner with large dining table, oven, two-ring hob, and fridge.
Upstairs there is a modern shower room, and two spacious bedrooms - one with a kingsize bed, the other with a double bed and an alcove single bed.
Central heating is powered by a biomass boiler, burning wood pellets. Wifi is of course available.
The Watersmeet Valley surrounding the property - owned and managed by the National Trust - is your garden, but there is a table and bench against a sunny wall for your exclusive use. There is a large riverside shared garden with the Lodge (nearly always occupied).
Please note there is no microwave or freezer in 'The Front' but the owners next door would be happy to let you use theirs if required. There is a shared washing machine in the greenhouse.
Minimum 2 night stay, maximum 3 night stay
